JOB DESCRIPTION

NDTC is hiring a remote contractor to produce, support, and implement our social media content before, during, and after the Presidential General Election 2024. This is a full time, temporary contract position with the possibility of permanent hire in 2025. It will report to the Director of Marketing.

Contractor Expectations:

  • Collaborate closely with the Marketing and Strategic Partnerships teams to craft, finesse, post, and support content – with a focus on election-related content – in our digital communities which include Instagram, LinkedIn, X, Facebook, and YouTube (and soon on TikTok and Bluesky)

  • Collaborate with Marketing to anticipate, plan, and schedule future content for our ongoing social media calendar

  • Work closely with the Community Engagement Manager to encourage and grow community engagement, track social channels to ensure that the NDTC online community at-large is being tended to, help glean insights on what’s working, what’s not, and how the organization can better serve our channels and audience’s needs.

  • Collaborate closely with the Digital Marketing Manager to manage, assess, and report back on data, analytics, and metrics.

  • Contribute to Marketing to tell the NDTC story by engaging with and sharing the stories of our learners through our shared media channels.

  • Work collaboratively with the full NDTC team to make sure efforts are integrated and shared media is used effectively to promote and distribute our content and training.

Qualifications:

  • A self-starter who can work independently, but who thrives in collaborative team environments.

  • Superb written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Ability to think creatively and bring new and innovative ideas to the table.

  • Interest and ability to follow industry conversations and recommend strategic investment in emergent platforms.

  • An extreme attention to detail and understanding of online interpersonal communications.

  • Ability to project a consistent brand voice through all shared media outreach channels.

  • 4 to 7 years of broad experience in managing and implementing digital & social media experience with political, advocacy and/or nonprofit organizations.

  • 1 to 2 years experience in video production and editing for social media.

  • Experience with digital organizing, digital issue advocacy campaigns, and/or political campaigns.

  • Experience in video production and editing for social media.

  • Ability to handle multiple “priority” projects simultaneously and meet established deadlines.

  • Ability to gain buy-in from multiple parties in a collaborative environment.

  • Proven track record of working online to organize diverse supporters and constituencies.

  • Possess solid project management skills.

Time Expectations

Full time, 37 hours per week, October 14 to December 13, 2024. Generally from 10AM to 6PM Eastern Time. Some evenings and weekends, with ample notice.
