JOB DESCRIPTION

Jay Jones for Virginia is looking for a creative, dedicated, and experienced Organizing Director to run the campaign’s field operation through the June 2025 primary. This person will play a critical role on the Jones for Virginia senior staff team and help shape political and outreach priorities across the Commonwealth. The Organizing Director reports to the Campaign Manager. This is a full-time position based in Norfolk, VA or Richmond, VA.

DUTIES

● Responsible for creating and managing the campaign’s ballot access petitioning program in conjunction with the Campaign Manager

● Oversee all direct voter contact efforts, including early vote and GOTV programming

● Serve as a political point of contact between the campaign and activists and stakeholders

● Hire and manage field staff

● Hire and scale a statewide organizing fellowship program

● Play a strategic role in campaign scheduling and operations

QUALIFICATIONS

● 3 cycles of field experience on a campaign, with 1 cycle preferred of statewide organizing experience

● 1 cycle as an organizing director on a Congressional or deputy on a statewide campaign

● Willingness to work nights and weekends, excited about principal management and staffing and driving the principal

● Virginia experience preferred

● Ballot access management experience preferred

● Access to a car and valid driver’s license

● Ability to relocate to Norfolk, VA or Richmond, VA in early January 2025

● Extremely detail-oriented, articulate, and passionate about harnessing grassroots interest in electing Jay Jones as the next Attorney General of Virginia
