Position Summary:
The Digital Organizing Director will lead Lander for NYC’s digital outreach and mobilization strategy to engage supporters, amplify the campaign’s message, and drive grassroots action. This role will be a member of the campaign’s Senior Leadership Team and will report to the Senior Advisor. The ideal candidate combines innovative digital tools, data analytics, and creative content to build a powerful online community and integrate digital efforts with on-the-ground organizing. The ideal candidate has a passion for progressive change, expertise in digital strategy, and experience in campaign or advocacy settings.
Key Responsibilities:
Digital Strategy Development:

Develop and implement a comprehensive digital strategy to support Lander for NYC’s voter outreach and volunteer recruitment goals.

Oversee the integration of digital organizing with field and communications including designing and executing a comprehensive digital organizing strategy to recruit, engage, and mobilize supporters. This includes “Grasstops” influencers and “grassroots” online communities.

Leverage social media, email, texting, and other digital platforms to drive campaign goals.

Collaborate with the campaign leadership team to align digital efforts with overall strategy.
Supporter Engagement and Mobilization:

Build and manage a robust online supporter base, including influencers, creating pathways for digital engagement to translate into offline action.

Launch digital campaigns to drive voter outreach, fundraising, and volunteer recruitment.

Develop and oversee virtual events, webinars, and online town halls.

Monitor and respond to social media interactions to foster supporter engagement.
Team and Volunteer Management:

Recruit, train, and manage a team of digital organizers and online volunteers.

Empower supporters with digital tools, providing training and resources to increase their effectiveness.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive digital organizing culture.
Content Creation and Management:

In partnership with the Campaign’s Digital Director, develop compelling and shareable digital content, including graphics, videos, and infographics.

Collaborate with communications and creative teams to align messaging with campaign goals.
Data and Analytics:

Use data-driven approaches to track and analyze digital engagement metrics.

Optimize digital campaigns based on performance data and audience insights.

Collaborate with the campaign’s Organizing Director to use CRM tools and platforms (e.g., VAN, NGP, or similar systems) to segment audiences and personalize outreach.
Innovation and Technology:

Identify and implement cutting-edge digital tools to enhance organizing efforts.

Stay informed about emerging trends in digital organizing and recommend innovative approaches.
Qualifications:
Experience:

Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in digital organizing, campaign management, or advocacy.

Proven success in building and mobilizing online communities.

Familiarity with campaign technology tools, such as Mobilize, and relational organizing platforms.

Experience working on political campaigns or in progressive advocacy organizations.
Skills:

Expertise in online voter engagement and mobilization, social media platforms, digital advertising, email marketing, and texting tools.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience in crafting persuasive digital content.

Proficiency in data management systems and analytics tools.

Strategic thinker with the ability to adapt to a fast-paced campaign environment.

Working Conditions:
- Flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as campaign needs dictate.
Compensation:
- Salary range is $7500-$8700/month, commensurate with experience, including a comprehensive benefits package.
