Position: Senior Compliance Associate

Senior Compliance Associate Overview:
As a Senior Compliance Associate at Acuity, you will be the primary point of contact for assigned clients, overseeing contributions, data entry, and campaign compliance tasks. This is a mid-level role for individuals with prior compliance experience who are ready to take on more responsibility and leadership within the team. The Senior Compliance Associate will handle a range of compliance functions independently and help guide Associates and Interns to ensure tasks are handled in a timely manner. Ideally, employees remain in the Senior Compliance Associate role for 1-2 years, and their learning provides a clear pathway for growth into a Client Manager role.
Senior Compliance Associate Responsibilities:

Client Management & Support (30%)

Serve as the main contact for assigned clients, helping them with all aspects of campaign compliance.

Send weekly updates to clients, providing them with the status of their campaigns' financials and compliance reports.

Assist clients with compliance-related questions and concerns, ensuring all issues are addressed promptly.

Perform other assigned duties related to political compliance and client administrative support.

Data Management & Compliance Reporting (50%)

Oversee and process campaign contributions and ensure they comply with legal regulations.

File all required disclosure reports (both federal and state-specific filings) with accuracy and in a timely manner.

Ensure data integrity by troubleshooting issues, fixing duplicates, addressing excessives, and scrubbing disclosure reports.

Work with complex campaign data, reconciling financial information between systems (QuickBooks, NGP, ActBlue, etc.).

Accounting & Reconciliation (20%)

Perform complete QuickBooks and NGP setup for assigned campaigns.

Reconcile campaign financials weekly, ensuring all records are accurate and up-to-date.

Assist with financial tasks, such as paying invoices and logging transactions in QuickBooks.
Senior Compliance Associate Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate has 2 or more years of compliance or campaign experience and is proficient in navigating Google Suite.

Strong communication skills are required. The ideal candidate is comfortable communicating directly with clients, providing them with updates, and addressing concerns about compliance issues and reports. This person is also comfortable communicating verbally and in writing, both internally and externally.

Software proficiency: The ideal candidate is familiar with various campaign finance systems, including QuickBooks, NGP, FECFile, state-specific filing software, ActBlue, and other tools such as Excel, Google Drive, and Airtable. This candidate can understand and apply functions in these tools to ensure compliance and efficient reporting.Advanced proficiency in these systems is a plus.

Proactive and creative problem solving. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting issues and finding solutions to ensure compliance and accuracy. Ideally this person has tenacity and grit, as the correct answer is not always the most obvious.

Organized and efficient: The ideal candidate is a self-starter, capable of managing multiple tasks and staying on top of deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Strong regulatory knowledge base. The ideal candidate is familiar with federal, state, and local campaign finance regulations and knows how to apply them to client accounts.
Senior Compliance Associate Compensation:

Salary: $65,001 - $75,000 annually
