JOB DESCRIPTION
Raise More is hiring a part-time role to work directly with Rachel Mohler Roberts on sales / political organizing. 100% remote and flexible hours, $2,000/month
• Raise More is building modern fundraising software for Democrats—a donor database with an integrated dialer, email, and texting that both candidates and finance directors love. Our next steps include launching a mobile app, building out a full integration with donor research software, owning compliance software, and expanding from there. We’re explicitly not doing any field-facing tech, since the VAN/party data monopoly makes competition there very difficult.
• I’m the technical co-founder (Zach), and Rachel is the business-side co-founder. This role will work alongside her. We have a budget of about $2k/month for part-time hours (fully remote, flexible hours). The main focus is co-leading the sales pipeline with Rachel.
• We’re bootstrapped—Rachel and I own 100% of the company but do not draw a salary—we stay capital efficient while building a stellar reputation. Our theory is that politics is driven by strong network effects, and the switching costs for software like NGP are high. By not taking venture capital, we can grow revenue slowly and steadily without panicking, and slowly edge out niches against NGP to capture more of the market.
• We’ve sold to various campaigns (statewide, congressional, legislative; challengers and incumbents) and are now focusing on our ICP: selling statewide deals to caucuses and parties at around $1,500/month, with the goal of land-it-then-expand-deal in future. Our main competitor crafted for incumbent federal campaigns—which pay well and stick around—but that focus left caucuses and parties and their leg and down ballot campaigns under-served. Group buying by state caucuses and parties want innovation, and we see that as our opportunity.
• This role primarily is political networking as outbound sales, plus a bit of “managing up” to keep Rachel on task. You’d research and build out our sales pipeline, sending outbound emails and make calls, and meet with Rachel several times a week. Ideally, we’d love someone very familiar with navigating dem state parties nationwide—and someone who’s a self-starter when it comes to high-volume and high-quality outbound networking and setting up demos for Rachel to ultimately close and further cultivate. That could look like previous experience as a finance director, call time manager, political organizer, etc.
