JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary: The Creative Director will lead Lander for NYC’s creative content strategy and execution, producing all visual and narrative digital content to communicate Brad Lander’s brand, message, and campaign goals. Reporting to the Digital Director, the Creative Director will spearhead social media video production and other multimedia content while working closely with the Digital, Communications, and Organizing teams.

Key Responsibilities:

Creative Strategy and Leadership:

  • Develop and execute the campaign’s overall social media video content and creative multimedia content strategy.

  • Lead brainstorming sessions to generate innovative ideas for campaign storytelling and voter engagement.

  • Collaborate with Brad and senior staff to align creative efforts with campaign branding and communications objectives.

  • Maintain an aggressive social media content calendar.

Content Development:

  • Produce high-quality multimedia content – including social media videos, photos, social media graphics, and other visual materials.

  • Pitch concepts for highly-creative, compelling content that resonates with online audiences and highlights Brad’s brand and communications goals.

  • Routinely create, including scripting and editing as necessary, engaging online video and social content.

  • Analyze and report out digital metrics to inform creative approaches and maximize social media engagement.

  • Manage tight project timelines in a fast-paced campaign environment.

Team Integration:

  • Work closely with the Digital Team to produce content optimized for social media, websites, and grassroots fundraising campaigns.

  • Collaborate with Organizing Team to produce content with influencers and volunteers

  • Work closely with the Communications Team to strategize earned media opportunities and ensure consistency in messaging and visuals

  • Work closely with the Scheduling Team to ensure candidate’s travel and events are communicated to a wider online audience.

Event Support:

  • Capture campaign events through photography and social media video production

  • Design and oversee creative assets for campaign events, including social media graphics, signage, and promotional materials

Resource Management:

  • Manage relationships with volunteers, influencers, and freelancers for creative services.

  • Oversee creative projects and ensure cost-effective resource allocation

Qualifications:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in multimedia content production

  • Experience in political campaigns, advocacy organizations, or similar environments is preferred.

  • Experience in NYC politics preferred.

Skills:

  • Expertise in social media video production, graphic design, photography, and storytelling.

  • Proficiency in design and editing software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).

  • Strong leadership and time management skills.

  • Ability to think strategically while executing tactically.

Compensation:

Salary is $6500-8000/month commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
