Organizing Lead
Position Summary: The Organizing Lead will oversee and coordinate grassroots organizing efforts, managing a team of organizers and volunteers to drive community engagement and voter mobilization. Reporting to the Field Director, the Organizing Lead plays a critical role in shaping and executing the campaign’s field strategy while ensuring effective outreach and engagement across diverse communities. This position requires strong leadership, strategic thinking, and a deep commitment to civic engagement.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Management:

Supervise and mentor a team of campaign organizers, providing training, guidance, and support.

Set clear goals and expectations for field staff and volunteers to achieve voter contact targets.

Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture to maximize productivity and morale.
Strategic Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement organizing strategies to reach and mobilize voters effectively.

Coordinate the execution of canvassing, phone banking, text banking, and voter registration drives.

Monitor field data and metrics to assess progress and adjust strategies as needed.
Volunteer Engagement:

Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and retention efforts to build a robust grassroots network.

Design and implement volunteer programs to sustain long-term engagement and enthusiasm.

Ensure volunteers are equipped with the tools and resources needed for successful outreach.
Community Outreach and Partnerships:

Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, advocacy groups, and local organizations.

Represent the campaign at public forums, community meetings, and events.

Identify and address community concerns to refine campaign messaging and strategy.
Event Planning and Coordination:

Lead the planning and execution of campaign events such as rallies, town halls, and community gatherings.

Collaborate with the communications team to promote events and ensure high turnout.

Manage logistical details, including venue arrangements, permits, and materials.
Data Management and Reporting:

Ensure accurate and timely input of field data into campaign databases (e.g., VAN, NGP).

Analyze data to inform strategic decisions and report progress to the Field Director.

Maintain detailed records of voter contact, outreach activities, and team performance.
Qualifications:
Experience:
-
3-5 years of experience in political campaigns, community organizing, or advocacy work in NYC.

Proven experience in managing teams and achieving field operation goals.

Familiarity with New York City’s political landscape and diverse communities required.
Skills:

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities to engage with diverse audiences.

Proficiency in voter contact tools (e.g., VAN, NGP) and data analysis.

Compensation:
Salary is $6000/month commensurate with experience and includes a comprehensive benefits package.
