JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary:

The Virginia House Democratic Caucus is building out a robust Finance team that will play a key role in ensuring that we retain & expand our majority in 2025. The Finance Director will work closely with Democratic, non-battleground, Members of the House of Delegates to ensure that they have the resources, assistance, and guidance to achieve their fundraising goals. They will also be crucial to ensuring that the House Democratic Caucus achieves our fundraising goals for the cycle.

There is not an application deadline. We will be considering applications on a rolling basis until the role is filled, so those interested should submit their application as soon as possible.

Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Scheduling, managing, and staffing the Richmond events program for all Democratic Delegates.

  • Assist with the hiring and staffing process for Delegates’ campaigns

  • Working with Delegates and campaign staff to set fundraising goals, draft and executive finance plans, and create an events schedule.

  • Training Delegates and campaign staff on fundraising best practices & skills.

  • Researching potential local, statewide, and national donors, and staffing / overseeing call time.

  • Creating, executing, and staffing local, statewide, and national events for the Caucus and Delegates.

  • Partner engagement & coordination.

  • Work with the digital team to maximize email, digital, and text fundraising programs for the Caucus and Delegates’ campaigns.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum one cycle of experience in political fundraising and campaigns, with a strong track record of success.

  • Familiarity with NGP-VAN and Excel / Google Sheets. Familiarity with call time & budgeting tools such as Numero, Calltime.AI, and Warchest preferred.

  • Excitement to create and maintain strong relationships with leadership, members, candidates, partners, and staff.

  • Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, and organization skills.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a willingness to hold self and others accountable to goals.

  • Team player with a positive attitude who is able to motivate others.

  • Ability to maintain a flexible schedule, including frequent evening and weekend work, and ability to travel statewide.

  • Commitment to winning and retaining a Democratic majority in the Virginia House of Delegates.

  • Travel in-state, as well as evening and weekend work, will be required.
