Salem, and Waynesboro. Candidates with prior personal or professional experience in rural

Virginia are strongly encouraged to apply.

This position is classified as non-exempt and will be compensated at $4,000 per month,

  • Recruiting, training and managing volunteers and interns.

  • Meeting weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals.

  • Building strong relationships with relational volunteers and volunteer event hosts, having

  • strong 1:1s with supporters, candidates, and stakeholders, and facilitate relational voter

  • contact.

  • Representing Blue Wave America with professionalism at designated events

Qualifications and Desirables:

  • Great interpersonal skills — ability to listen well and communicate effectively.

  • Strong time management and organizational skills.

  • Adept at relationship-building with volunteers and voters.

  • Willingness to work campaign hours, including nights and weekends.

  • Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

  • Experience volunteering or working for campaigns is a plus but it is not required.

  • Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable access to a vehicle, mobile phone, and laptop.

  • Strong commitment to Democratic politics and ideals, and electing Democratic candidates.

Women, people of color, LGBTQ+ individuals, and individuals with disabilities are strongly

encouraged to apply. Studies have shown that folks with these backgrounds are less likely to

apply for jobs unless they believe they meet every requirement. We are most interested in

finding the best candidate for the job, and that candidate may come from a less traditional

background. We may consider an equivalent combination of knowledge, skills, education, and

experience to meet minimum qualifications. If you are interested in applying, we encourage you to think broadly about your background and skill set for the role.
