Overview:
Blue Wave America is seeking motivated individuals to join our team as full-time Field
Organizers for the 2025 election cycle, leading the effort to drive turnout in the rural counties of Virginia.
Field Organizers will work to elect Democrats up and down the ballot and will be
responsible for implementing an aggressive field plan and managing the GOTV operation in
rural Virginia. In addition, Field Organizers will be responsible for engaging in relational
organizing and deep canvassing strategies by cultivating relationships with relational volunteers and assisting with regional events.
Field Organizers will report directly to the Regional Field Director. This is a hybrid
position requiring in-personal travel throughout Southside Rural Virginia, which includes
Campbell County, Caroll County, Charlotte County, Floyd County, Franklin County, Galax City,
Halifax County, Henry County, Lunenberg County, Mecklenburg County, Patrick County,
Pittsylvania County, Prince Edward County. Candidates with prior personal or professional
experience in rural Virginia are strongly encouraged to apply.
This position is classified as non-exempt and will be compensated at $4,000 per month,
paid in installments twice monthly, with 100% employer-paid medical insurance. Assigned
overtime will be required for this position and paid at time and a half of the hourly rate.
Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. This full-time, temporary position is based in
Virginia and ends on November 15, 2025.
Key Responsibilities:

Implementing all aspects of the field program in assigned region.

Coordinating and participating in direct voter contact programs to persuade and mobilize voters including phonebanking, door-knocking, and textbanking.

Recruiting, training and managing volunteers and interns.

Meeting weekly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals.

Building strong relationships with relational volunteers and volunteer event hosts, having

strong 1:1s with supporters, candidates, and stakeholders, and facilitating relational

voter contact.

Representing Blue Wave America with professionalism at designated events
Qualifications and Desirables:

Great interpersonal skills — ability to listen well and communicate effectively.

Strong time management and organizational skills.

Adept at relationship-building with volunteers and voters.

Willingness to work campaign hours, including nights and weekends.

Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines.

Experience volunteering or working for campaigns is a plus but it is not required.

Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable access to a vehicle, mobile phone, and laptop.
