JOB DESCRIPTION

Zellnor for New York City (Z4NYC) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Social Media Manager to join our campaign team, located in New York City. In this role, you will contribute to managing the campaign’s social media presence across multiple platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, and Blue Sky. You might create engaging content, write compelling copy, edit videos, manage our posting schedule, and develop a strategic social media approach to help increase visibility, engage supporters, and influence key voter groups. This is an exciting opportunity to be at the forefront of the campaign’s digital outreach efforts, playing a key role in shaping the narrative and ensuring the campaign makes an impact across platforms.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (2+ years) as a Social Media Manager, Digital Strategist, or similar role, ideally within a political campaign context

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling and persuasive messaging.

  • Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and best practices, with experience in growing digital audiences and engagement.

  • Proficiency in video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, CapCut, Final Cut Pro, or similar).

  • Experience with social media management tools (e.g., Hootsuite, Buffer, Sprout Social) and analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Facebook Insights).

  • Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Creative mindset with an eye for detail and design, ensuring all content aligns with the campaign’s branding and messaging.

  • Passion for politics, social justice, and public engagement with a deep understanding of political campaigns and their digital strategies.

  • Graphic design skills (e.g., proficiency in Photoshop, Canva, or similar tools).
