Defeat Extremists: National Political Director

Defeat Extremists seeks a highly motivated, strategic, and independent individual to serve as our National Political Director. This role is fully remote and can be based anywhere in the United States.

Our theory of the case is simple: President Trump has had a uniquely disastrous first 100 days in office and Republicans will be punished in the 2026 midterms. We have a once in a generation opportunity to flip seats across the country, but it will require intentional candidate recruitment and support early in the cycle.

Our targets are races that are slightly outside the traditional battlefield, but could be in play with the right national environment, strong candidates, and smartly deployed budgets.

• I am excited to be join a small, scrappy team that’s doing things that no one else in the Democratic ecosystem is doing

• I have worked as a campaign manager on a competitive congressional campaign for at least one cycle and ideally two

• I am looking for sustainable, long term work that will not burn me out

• I have managed a seven figure budget

• I thrive in remote work environments

• I do not need a large team environment to be motivated

We don’t expect you to have done all of the following in previous roles. In this role you will be responsible for the following:

• Recruiting candidates in roughly 20-30 target congressional districts

• Supporting candidates with campaign launch

• Recruiting campaign staff for targeted races

• Providing comprehensive candidate and campaign manager support

• Extensive nationwide travel to recruit and support candidates

• Other duties as necessary

Compensation for this role is $100,000-110,000, with opportunities for performance based bonuses capped at $150,000. We anticipate the role will begin in May or June, but will work with you to find a start date that works with your schedule. Unlimited PTO; $500 monthly healthcare stipend.
