Summary
Voto Latino (VL) is seeking motivated individuals to join the organization as Interns. The intern role will work to support one of the following departments – Communications, Social Media, Partnerships & Advocacy, and Strategic Initiatives.

Department Descriptions:

Communications
-
Intern role will provide support in drafting/writing press releases memos and briefs
-
Conduct research, track news trends and other communication related tasks

Social Media
-
Intern role will provide support across social media platforms for content creation
-
Provide support for post and video editing
-
Conduct research for content creation and fact checking
-
Partnerships & Advocacy – (DC-based preferred for Summer interns)
-
Intern role will work with Partnerships & Advocacy Associate to provide organizing support for VL On-Campus leaders nationwide

Provide support to organize calls and meetings with partners
-
Help create products for outreach to elected officials, policy memos, and newsletters for partners
-
Strategic Initiatives – (DC Based preferred)
-
Provide support for leadership development events and projects such as event logistics and planning and execution of events
Compensation:
The intern role will be compensated at $17.50 per hour for up to 29 hours per week. Start and end dates are flexible.
Location:
Hybrid: This opportunity is open to remote (within the US) and in-person candidates in the Washington, DC area. Please note certain departments require/give preference to candidates that are based in Washington, DC.
Requirements

Be a strong self-starter and self-driven individual

Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
-
Experience meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Ability to work individually and in a team environment

Experience with grassroots organizing a plus, but not a requirement
-
A profound understanding of the Latino community and issues of social justice
-
Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours when needed
-
Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus
