JOB DESCRIPTION
The National Democratic Training Committee (NDTC) is seeking a paid, part-time, Outreach & Engagement Fellow to assist NDTC’s Marketing & Communication Department with pro-active external outreach and customer service for prospective learners and registrants who come to NDTC through live virtual trainings, bootcamps, in-person events, and partnerships. NDTC runs a comprehensive training program in all 50 states through both virtual and in-person programming. To date, NDTC has trained over 112,000 people and over 2700 candidates in the 2024 election cycle.
This fellowship is a part-time, temporary position that will go through December 19, 2025. The fellow will report to the Director of Marketing & Communication, and work closely with the rest of the team, as well as across the Live Training, Political, and Special Projects teams in the organization.
NDTC is a fully remote workplace, with staff located in the below states. Fellows must live or attend school in one of the below states for the duration of the fellowship: DC, GA, IL, NC, NJ, TN, VA. NDTC is not able to offer employment to temporary staff who do not live in one of these states.
Primary Responsibilities:

Work across teams at NDTC to coordinate and centralize information and outreach to prospective learners, registrants, and attendees

Reach out proactively or follow-up with prospective learners, registrants, and attendees one-on-one by phone call, email, or text as appropriate

Coordinate with the Community Engagement Manager to establish and cultivate relationships, and support the progression from prospective to confirmed learner

Maintain best marketing, digital, texting, and communication best practices while working to help NDTC grow reach and audience

The Ideal Candidate Will Have/Be:

Experience with at least two campaign cycles as a field organizer or campaign staff

A self-starter who is comfortable with prospecting and making cold calls

Excellent inter-personal communication, writing skills, email and phone etiquette, project management, and analytical skills

Comfortable in collaborative and virtual team environments

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple projects simultaneously

2+ years of broad experience in external customer service or sales

Familiarity with Monday CRM, Mailchimp, and texting platforms

Familiarity with marketing and communications with political, advocacy and/or nonprofit organizations

Familiarity with digital organizing, digital issue advocacy campaigns, and/or political campaigns
Fellowship Details
The Outreach & Engagement Fellowship will run until December 19, 2025. Fellowships with NDTC are paid $22.50 per hour with an expected commitment of at least 20–25 hours a week. We are generally flexible with schedules, but all Fellows must work within our Monday - Thursday, 9am - 5pm CST, and Friday 9am - 2pm CST business hours.
