JOB DESCRIPTION

The Virginia Maloney for City Council campaign is seeking a dedicated Lead Operations Fellow to help elect Virginia Maloney to New York City Council District 4 (Manhattan’s East Side, Midtown, and StuyTown).

The Operations Fellow will play a critical role in ensuring the campaign is operating smoothly and effectively. They will take part in grassroots organizing, direct voter outreach (canvassing and phone banking), event planning, and campaign strategy. They will also contribute to special projects, including fundraising, community engagement, volunteer recruitment, and policy research. You will be expected to help lead other volunteers who are working on similar tasks.

This is a part-time position (15-20 hours a week). The position will conclude the last week of June, with a possibility of extension through November 5th, 2025.

Responsibilities:

  • Canvassing and Literature Drop Support: Organizing and preparing materials for canvassers and those dropping literature; creating walk lists and bundling materials.

  • Phone Banking Support: Setting up and leading phone banking shifts, providing volunteers with call scripts and data, and tracking results.

  • Support campaign events by assisting with setup, breakdown, material preparation, and volunteer coordination.

  • Assist with office organization, supply management, and data entry (voter, volunteer, donor information).

  • Assist with scheduling, communications (mailings, emails), and general administrative tasks as needed.
