JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Description:

Z4NYC seeks a talented and passionate Latino Outreach Coordinator to join our campaign’s Organizing Department. In this role, you will access your network and knowledge of local Spanish and English language social and political stakeholders in order to augment the campaign’s local community connections with potential volunteers, voters, businesses, organizations, and leaders, with the ultimate goal in turning out volunteers and voters for the campaign. As Outreach Coordinator, you will transform the campaign’s local organizing needs into efficacious field actions just as robustly as you will organize and build support in latino communities to ensure the campaign is reflective of and responsive to their needs and does so in their own words.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a field or community organizer, ideally within political campaigns or social justice spaces is strongly preferred

  • Exceptional networking and interpersonal skills with the ability to quickly and efficiently build out a citywide volunteer base and invite them to events is essential

  • Deep understanding of current local political issues, public policy, and the political landscape within Latino and Spanish-language communities across the city

  • Stong and diverse networks across various demographic groups in multiple boros, and the capability to quickly expand that network, in part through power mapping

  • Fluency in written and spoken Spanish required

  • Capability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines, and handle multiple projects simultaneously is a must

  • Strong capability to collaborate closely and maintain efficacious communication with other team members, including senior campaign staff, the Organizing Director, the Volunteer Coordinator, Boro Leads, and campaign volunteers

  • Passion for politics, public service, and the candidate’s vision for change

  • Familiarity with campaign platforms including VAN, Scale to Win, Mobilize, and Reach

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America
