JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Title: Campaign Aide

Location: Jersey City, NJ, in person

Reports To: Campaign Manager

Start Date: ASAP

Type: Full-Time, Through November 2025

About the Campaign:

Mussab Ali is running for Mayor of Jersey City to build a city that works for everyone — with a focus on affordable housing, quality public education, and community-first development. Our campaign is rooted in grassroots energy, strong local partnerships, and bold leadership for Jersey City’s future.

Role Overview:

The Campaign Aide is a key member of the campaign’s core team, supporting the candidate’s day-to-day schedule, fundraising operation, and field organizing efforts. This is a fast-paced, hands-on role ideal for someone who wants to gain experience across all parts of a political campaign. You’ll work closely with the candidate and campaign manager to keep the campaign running smoothly and moving forward.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily calltime: prepare call lists, track outreach, and follow up with donors

  • Staff the candidate at fundraising and public events

  • Process contributions and support campaign finance disclosures

  • Assist with planning and executing campaign events

  • Help recruit, train, and manage campaign interns

  • Conduct donor research and support fundraising strategy

  • Support volunteer organizing and lead canvasses and phonebanks

  • Other ad-hoc responsibilities as needed

Qualifications:

  • Highly organized and adaptable, with strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in Google Workspace and Excel; experience with NGP, Numero or ActBlue a plus

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to represent the campaign professionally in public settings

  • Interest in political campaigns, public service, or organizing

  • Spanish fluency is a plus but not required

  • Weekend and evening availability as needed

Compensation:

$3,000 to $4,000 per month, commensurate with experience.
