The Field Fellow will assist in all aspects of the campaign’s field operations, including voter outreach, canvassing, phone banking, and data collection. This position provides an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in political campaigning and grassroots organizing. The fellow will work closely with the Field Director, Field Interns, and other team members to mobilize voters, promote the candidate’s message, and help increase support within the community.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Voter Outreach: Assist with the canvassing program by engaging voters in person or over the phone to encourage voter turnout and support for the candidate.

  • Event Coordination: Help organize and staff campaign events, rallies, and town halls, ensuring smooth execution and effective engagement with constituents.

  • Data Management: Assist in tracking and updating voter data in the campaign’s voter database system; ensure accurate recording of voter interactions.

  • Field Research: Conduct research on key demographics and voting trends in target areas to support field strategies.

  • Volunteer Coordination: Help recruit, train, and manage volunteers for canvassing, phone banking, and other campaign activities.

  • Community Engagement: Represent the campaign at community events and local meetings to build relationships and promote the candidate’s platform.

  • General Campaign Support: Provide administrative support as needed, including preparing materials, organizing field offices, and assisting with other field operations tasks.

Qualifications:

  • Passion for Politics: A strong interest in political campaigning, public service, and community engagement.

  • Excellent Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse groups of people.

  • Self-Starter: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Detail-Oriented: Strong attention to detail, especially when handling data and tracking outreach efforts.

  • Organizational Skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a busy environment.

  • Flexible Schedule: Availability to work evenings and weekends as required, especially during peak campaign periods.

  • Technology Proficiency: Comfort with basic technology (email, social media, spreadsheets, etc.) and willingness to learn campaign-specific tools and databases.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience with political campaigns or volunteer organizing is a plus, but not required.

  • Familiarity with local political issues, demographics, and community organizations.

  • Fluency in Spanish is a plus if working in a multilingual area.

Learning Opportunities:

  • Gain hands-on experience in grassroots campaigning and voter mobilization.

  • Learn the intricacies of field operations and data management on a political campaign.

  • Develop skills in event planning, volunteer management, and community outreach.

  • Build a network within political organizing and gain insight into local and national political landscapes.
