JOB DESCRIPTION

Rob Sand for Iowa is looking for a bright, highly-motivated individual to join our team as a Summer 2025 Intern! This internship presents an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in exploring communications and the inner workings of a statewide campaign organization.

The program will run from ** June 15** through** September 1, 2025**. This position is in person based in Des Moines, and we anticipate a commitment of 10-15 hours per week.

This is a paid opportunity ($15/hour, capped at 15 hours per week). If approved by your college or university, the internship can also be done for academic credit. Priority will be given to Iowa-based applicants and those with ties to Iowa, but we welcome anyone passionate about helping to flip this seat in 2026 to apply!

Responsibilities

  • Daily work with the communications team consists of:

  • Tracking and compiling press clips and mentions

  • Helping draft press releases and other written materials

  • Helping to prepare internal communications products

  • Keeping track of the calendar and other administrative tasks as needed

  • Taking on additional projects over time based on interest and capacity

Qualifications

  • Strong writing and editing skills

  • An attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and meet tight deadlines

  • Ability to handle confidential matters and information

  • Strong interpersonal communication skills

  • Commitment to working through the full program (June 15–September 1, 2025)
