Normington Petts & Associates (NPA) is a leading polling and strategy firm with Democratic clients at every level of government. We also represent independent expenditures and progressive issue advocacy organizations. NPA is an intentionally small firm dedicated to client attention and thoughtful strategy. Our small team works in person in a casually dressed, but serious about the work atmosphere. Our fast-paced team is collaborative and supportive.

Primary Job Responsibilities

As the Associate Programmer you will be responsible for producing crosstabs and topline data for quantitative surveys. You will report directly to the Director of Research and work mostly independently. You will also work with Partners to weight final data sets.

Required Qualifications

• You have a meticulous attention to detail.

• You have a willingness to learn.

• You have experience accessing the VAN and other voter file sources.

• You can manipulate data and have worked with spreadsheet software.

• There are no formal educational requirements for this position.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Wincross.

• You have experience with programming languages such as R, Python, SQL.

Salary, Benefits and Job Details

This is an in person, full-time, entry-level job, located in Washington, DC. Compensation will range from $50,000-$60,000 per year based on experience. Benefits include:

• Medical and Prescription Drug coverage: NPA covers 100% of cost for PPO Platinum health and Rx coverage.

• Transit Benefits: NPA provides small monthly stipend on Metro Smart Benefits. NPA does not pay for parking.

• Paid Sick Leave, Personal Leave & Vacation: NPA offers 10 days per year of paid vacation benefits available after the first 90 days of employment. Employees will also be allowed three personal days and three paid sick days per year.
