JOB DESCRIPTION
ABOUT US
MVP is a clearinghouse for Democratic and progressive donors to direct funding to support organizations working to shift culture, win power, and shape policy.
We support hundreds of groups organizing the broad-based, multiracial coalition we need to win power and progress for decades to come: working people, young people, and voters across urban, rural, immigrant, and LGBTQ+ communities. Learn more: https://movement.vote.
ABOUT THE ROLE
As Donor Communications Manager, you will lead the creation of tailored donor communications that showcase our work and inspire donors to join us and invest at their highest potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.

WHAT ELSE YOU SHOULD KNOW
-
Small team, extensive collaboration: MVP’s Director of Communications is currently a “Comms Team of One”, working with an ethos of resourcefulness and close cross-team collaboration. As our second official Comms Team member, you will continue this ethos while dramatically increasing the frequency, quality, and responsiveness of our donor communications.
-
Urgent needs, enormous potential: Your most important and immediate job, by far, will be to increase the flow of up-to-date donor communications about our grantee partners’ work and impact. However, your role may also offer significant opportunities to demonstrate leadership and advance other areas of our communications, from public relations to digital strategy and more.
-
Making meaning of this political moment: You will be joining the MVP team at a precarious and important time for the Democratic coalition, the progressive movement, and our country as a whole. MVP intends to be a leader in this moment by examining our assumptions and evolving our strategy to meet the new challenges we face. As such, one of our core imperatives is to help our donors expand their aperture, understand this moment in the context of a longer arc and vision of progress, and join us in rising to the challenges ahead. For more context, please read our recent memo, “7 Big Questions for Democratic & Progressive Donors” at: movement.vote/7questions.
