Responsibilities:
● Work with the campaign manager, candidate, and consultants to implement an
aggressive field program in an urban area, including on doors and phones.
● Recruit, train, and manage volunteers.
● Train and manage field interns.
● Knock on doors.
● Meet weekly and monthly voter contact and volunteer recruitment goals.
● Build strong relationships with key volunteers and supporters, engage and connect with
key stakeholders, and facilitate relational voter contact.
● This is not an exhaustive list of responsibilities and other tasks may be assigned based
on the campaign need and discretion of the campaign manager.
Requirements for this position:
● Demonstrated interest in campaigns, politics, or government.
● Willing to work long hours including weekends, particularly after Labor Day.
● Willing to knock on doors, talk to volunteers and voters on the phones, and embrace
tasks and projects as assigned.
● Able to work collaboratively with a diverse team of staff, interns, volunteers, and
consultants.
● Great interpersonal skills — ability to listen well and communicate effectively.
● Strong time management and organizational skills.
● Able to work under pressure and under tight deadlines.
● Strong commitment to Democratic politics and ideals and electing Democratic
candidates.
Additionally, the ideal candidate is someone who:
● Has experience knocking on doors for a campaign, talking to voters on the phone, and
working with volunteers.
● Has interned or worked on a political campaign previously.
● Comfortable with Votebuilder with an understanding of how to cut turf, create call lists,
make/use reports and understand scoring.
● Has experience in or knowledge of Hoboken as a city and its politics.
