JOB DESCRIPTION

A Democratic campaign for Texas Attorney General is hiring a finance director to manage day-to-day fundraising operations for the 2026 cycle. The finance director will work directly with the candidate and closely with the campaign’s finance consultant to execute a fundraising program that achieves critical financial goals.

This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and experience across core areas of campaign fundraising – especially call time management, donor engagement, and event planning. The ideal candidate is proactive, collaborative, and comfortable working in a fast-paced campaign environment. While prior campaign finance experience is strongly preferred, we are open to a range of backgrounds and experience levels for the right fit.

Key Responsibilities:

● Partner with the finance consultant to implement a comprehensive fundraising plan

● Set and track weekly, monthly, and quarterly fundraising goals

● Oversee the candidate’s call time program, including preparation, staffing, and follow-up prior to a call time manager being hired

● Coordinate and staff the candidate at fundraising events across the state of Texas and nationally

● Build on existing donor networks by identifying, researching, and cultivating new prospects while maintaining thorough, organized, and up-to-date records

● Oversee data management to ensure accurate donor records, with particular attention to donor communication preferences

● Track fundraising progress and deliver regular updates and reports to the campaign manager

● Work with compliance consultant to ensure accurate and timely reporting

● Coordinate digital and direct mail fundraising with external vendors as needed

● Hire and manage finance staff, interns, and volunteers as the team grows

● Ability to work extended hours, including nights and weekends, as needed

● Perform other finance-related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

● Experience in campaign fundraising, ideally on a statewide or other race with a robust high-dollar program

● Comfortable managing call time, planning events, and engaging with donors

● Strong organizational and communication skills

● Familiarity with Google Suite, NGP, and ActBlue is preferred

● Self-starter who can work independently and with a team

● Valid driver’s license required

● Willingness to travel as needed
