Friends of May Nivar is seeking a highly motivated finance to join our campaign team for one of the most competitive battleground races for the Virginia House of Delegates. Candidates are required to be based in the Richmond area. The Finance Assistant will report to the Finance Director, and interact frequently with the Campaign Manager and the candidate.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Assist in the planning, execution, and staffing (as needed) of fundraisers and events

• Prepare briefing materials for events, meetings, and other engagements for the candidate and assist with call time preparation as needed

• Research and prospect potential local, statewide, and national donors

• Assist with staffing candidate during call time

• Other duties as assigned, based on the needs of the campaign

Required Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal skills, well organized, and detail oriented

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and changing environment

• Work irregular hours, including some nights and weekends

• Computer skills, especially Excel and Google Spreadsheets

• A valid driver’s license and vehicle

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiarity with NGP, ActBlue, and call time software preferred but not required

• Previous campaign or political experience preferred but not required

Compensation and Benefits:

• $4,500 per month salaried
