Job Summary:

Mary Person seeks a Campaign Manager to oversee full campaign operations in Virginia’s House District 83. The ideal candidate will be an experienced operative with great leadership and organizational skills and the enthusiasm to motivate campaign staff throughout the cycle. Commitment to building relationships with voters and volunteers is a must. This role reports directly to Mary Person who is based in Emporia, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

● Prepare and implement a comprehensive and effective campaign strategy

● Formulate the budget for the campaign and ensure compliance

● Oversee and in some cases implement finance and field operations

● Campaign budget-dependent, hire and train campaign staff to create a strong and organized campaign infrastructure

● Work with the Candidate and campaign staff to establish and monitor goals for the campaign

● Determine how to effectively allocate campaign resources

● Manage the Candidate’s campaign schedule and events

● Advise Candidate on priorities for campaign activities and progress of the campaign

● Serve as the spokesperson for the campaign and filter all media requests

● Research effective messaging strategies and campaign information

● Track/report success

Minimum Qualifications:

● Minimum of 2 years of experience in political campaigns, with a track record of success

● Familiarity with NGP-VAN and Excel / GoogleSheets

● Excitement to create and maintain strong relationships with donors, volunteers, and campaign staff

● Detail-oriented with excellent time management, planning, and organization skills

● Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects, and a willingness to hold self and others accountable to goals

● Team player with a positive attitude who is able to motivate others

● Access to a smartphone and laptop

● Willingness to work extensive hours, including nights and weekends (as needed)

● Willingness to move to district and travel throughout district, as needed

● Commitment to winning

● Ties to Virginia and/or the district are welcomed, but not required

Compensation:

$6,000/month
