JOB DESCRIPTION
Katie Porter for Governor is looking for a Digital Content Director to lead an innovative and creative digital program. The Digital Content Director’s primary responsibilities will be managing Katie Porter’s social media channels, finding ways to engage new media platforms and content creators, and working with the digital fundraising team to raise money online and ensure Katie’s voice is consistent across platforms. The Digital Content Director will work closely with the communications team, media consultants, and Katie Porter to build out the campaign’s brand and messaging.
Responsibilities

Work with the candidate to create all types of video content. The Digital Content Director will be responsible for all aspects of content creation from ideating, script writing, filming, editing, and posting.

Regularly post on the campaign’s Facebook, X, Instagram, BlueSky, and TikTok, creating content that differentiates between platforms.

Work with the communications team to identify non-traditional media outlets.

Find new ways for the campaign to use digital organizing tools.

Work with digital fundraising consultants to produce compelling fundraising content.

Act as a member of the campaign’s senior leadership team.
Preferred Qualifications

We are looking for a self-starter who is passionate about electing Katie Porter as California's next Governor and who is ready to lead our campaign to try new things, explore new trends, and reach voters who traditional political media does not reach.

Proficient at editing and filming video.

Applicants should have experience running a brand, candidate, or campaign’s social media channels.

An understanding of digital fundraising tactics is a bonus, but not required.
Benefits & Logistics

The salary for this position is between $7,500-$11,000 per month dependent on experience.

$650 per month stipend for healthcare.

Option to work remote for a portion of the campaign.

Two weeks of paid time off per year.

This role will likely include travel within California.
