Position: Digital Fellow
Location: Phoenix, AZ
Work Schedule: Exempt, Part-time, 15 hours/week
Fellowship Description:
The Opportunity Arizona Fellowship Program was created to provide students and working professionals with an entry-level opportunity to learn and acquire skills in political advocacy through direct, hands-on experience at the state government level. Fellows will work approximately 10-15 hours a week throughout the course of an academic year on developing skills related to political advocacy, including but not limited to graphic design, social media management, communications, digital tools, grassroots organizing, leadership, messaging, campaign planning and strategy.
Fellowship Duties and Responsibilities:
At Opportunity Arizona, we aim to teach fellows needed skills to advance through their career path and aim to include them in the heart of our decision-making and organizational processes. Fellowship duties and responsibilities include but not limited to:

Create social media graphics for Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and BlueSky

Write and film videos optimized for social media platforms

Assist in creating graphics and videos for advocacy campaigns

Post to Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, and BlueSky

Write captions, event descriptions, and other copy for any and all digital tools (Mobilize, EveryAction, social media platforms)

Proofread emails, landing pages, graphics, scripts, and concepts for quality assurance

Identify creative ways to engage digital audiences and advocates

Initiate branching out to more digital platforms (YouTube, TikTok, etc.)

Capture and archive photos and videos from in-person events and AZ Legislature TV

Learn to use and gain proficiency with data management programs like NGP VAN and EveryAction

Learn to use grassroots organizing programs such as Mobilize
-
Learn and understand the fundamentals and dynamics of Arizona's state legislature, such as how a bill becomes a law and which parties control what powers in our current state government makeup.
Additional Details:
This is a part-time position for approximately 10-15 hours a week. Fellowship will last from September 2025 until December 2025 and may be extended an additional semester (until May 2026) upon evaluation. The position is remote, however, in-person will be required. Some travel may be necessary. No previous experience is required. Compensation will include a $750 - $1,125 stipend each month depending on hours commitment. Occasional work hours on weekends may be required. Course credit is available to students who qualify.
