General Information:
Congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (WA-07) seeks a Digital and Creative Director to take primary responsibility for the campaign side communications; primarily driving and overseeing social media outlets and creative content. This position will play a central role in developing strategy and implementing social and creative content as well as staffing the Congresswoman in Seattle, Washington, DC and additional venues when appropriate.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five years of digital communications and creative media communications experience in increasingly senior positions, ideally on issue and/or electoral campaigns. This position requires travel, some weekend and evening work and is flexible in terms of location.
Job summary:
An innovative and experienced Digital and Creative Director is needed to lead the creative vision and execution across all digital platforms for PFC and all related campaigns including Medicare for All, Resistance Lab trainings and the Congresswoman’s other year round programs with possible extension. The ideal candidate should be a strategic thinker with a keen eye for design, a strong understanding of how to leverage digital platforms, and a proven ability to lead and inspire creative teams. This person will be responsible for translating programmatic objectives into compelling and engaging creative strategies.
Responsibilities:

Lead the development of creative strategies for all digital channels, including website, social media, email outreach, digital advertising, and interactive experiences.

Work with our digital firm and outside consultants to ensure a variety of timely content across platforms.

Develop and maintain a strong brand identity and ensure consistent messaging across all digital touchpoints.

Oversee the entire creative process, from conceptualization and ideation to execution and delivery with assistance from consultants when necessary.

Collaborate with outside stakeholders to align creative strategies with campaign goals and ensure seamless integration across initiatives.

Stay up-to-date with emerging digital technologies, industry trends, and best practices, and incorporate them into creative strategies.

Leverage opportunities from the official congressional side for the campaign work

Manage creative budgets, allocate resources effectively, and track performance metrics to optimize campaigns including social media views and target audiences.

Mentor and develop creative talent within the team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and creative excellence.
Required skills and experience

Proven experience in a creative leadership role, with a strong background in digital design, marketing, and brand strategy.

Expertise in digital design, including proficiency with relevant design software (e.g., Adobe Creative Suite).

Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire creative teams, provide constructive feedback, and manage projects effectively.

Strong portfolio showcasing successful digital campaigns, brand development, and interactive experiences.

Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

Ability to think strategically, solve problems creatively, and adapt to evolving trends and technologies.
Preferred skills and experience

Knowledge of data analytics and its application to inform and refine creative strategies.

Traditional comms skills are a plus, including drafting press releases, written remarks, and op-eds.
