Position: Compliance Client Manager

Department: Compliance, Reports and Processing

Location: In-person, Washington, DC; Acuity Politics office

Compliance Client Manager Overview:

The Acuity Compliance Client Manager is the primary point of contact for managing the day-to-day compliance needs of assigned clients. This role is responsible for all aspects of campaign compliance, including client onboarding, financial reconciliation, filing disclosure reports, and handling complex client requests. This is a senior role that offers long-term stability and the opportunity for continued growth within the company, allowing ideal candidates to thrive in the position. The stability of this role can lead to taking on a lasting leadership role or further advancement as opportunities arise.

Compliance Client Manager Responsibilities:

  • Client Relationship Management (30%)

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients, building and maintaining strong relationships with candidates, staff, and consultants.

  • Manage client communications, addressing inquiries and compliance-related issues in a timely manner.

  • Provide weekly financial updates to clients and assist with compliance-related needs.

  • Oversee the complete onboarding process for new campaigns, including stakeholder meetings, registrations, and account setups.

  • Compliance Reporting & Financial Reconciliation (40%)

  • Independently perform weekly reconciliation of campaign finances, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.

  • Ensure all aspects of campaign compliance are properly managed, including contributing to and maintaining accurate records.

  • File all required disclosure reports (FEC, PDC, state filings, etc.) with precision and timeliness.

  • Assist with the preparation of draft reports and ensure that client campaigns are in compliance with applicable laws and regulations.

  • Data Integrity & Issue Resolution (10%)

  • Manage and ensure data integrity across all client accounts, including resolving issues such as excessives, duplicates, and other data discrepancies.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to campaign banking, merchant account systems, and reporting entities.

  • Ensure all client records are complete, accurate, and compliant with campaign finance laws.

  • Leadership & Oversight (10%)

  • Oversee the work of Senior Associates, ensuring their tasks are completed accurately and on time.

  • Help direct the work of Associates and Interns, providing guidance and support as needed.

  • Play a key role in mentoring and developing the skills of junior team members.

  • Client Recruitment & Growth (5%)

  • Become involved in client recruitment and business development efforts, supporting the firm’s growth and expansion.

  • Task Management & Miscellaneous Support (5%)

  • Assist Partners with miscellaneous task management, helping with special projects or ad-hoc requests as needed.

Compliance Client Manager Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required. The ideal candidate has 6 or more years of compliance or campaign experience and is proficient in navigating Google Suite.

  • **Confident and experienced campaign finance professional: **The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of campaign finance regulations and has worked extensively with tools like NGP, QuickBooks, and various filing software (e.g., FECFile, state-specific software like ORCA or CFRemote). The ideal candidate also is proficient with other tools such as Excel, Google Drive, and Airtable. This candidate can understand and apply functions in these tools to ensure compliance and efficient reporting. Advanced proficiency in these systems is a requirement for this role.

  • D **emonstrate advanced knowledge of campaign finance regulations across various jurisdictions and committees. **The Ideal candidate is able to respond to complex compliance issues and offer expert guidance to clients and internal teams.

  • **Strong communication skills are required. **The ideal candidate must be comfortable communicating directly with clients, providing them with updates, and addressing concerns about compliance issues and reports. This person is also comfortable communicating verbally and in writing, both internally and externally. The ideal candidate can communicate with clients at all levels, from candidates to consultants, and can explain complex compliance matters clearly and effectively.

  • Keen attention to detail. The ideal candidate thrives in environments where precision matters. This person must be comfortable working with large data sets.

  • Proactive and creative problem solving. The ideal candidate enjoys troubleshooting issues and finding solutions to ensure compliance and accuracy. Ideally this person has tenacity and grit, as the correct answer is not always the most obvious.

  • **Organized and efficient: **The ideal candidate is a self-starter, capable of managing multiple tasks and staying on top of deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Advanced regulatory knowledge base. The ideal candidate is familiar with federal, state, and local campaign finance regulations and knows how to apply them to client accounts with minimal errors.

Compliance Client Manager Compensation

  • Salary: $75,001 - $90,000
