GPS Impact is hiring a full-time Account Manager to join our growing GPS Influence
Team. GPS Influence is the public affairs and strategic communications practice group at GPS Impact. It is preferred that this position is based in our Kansas City, MO hybrid work environment, but this position can be remote (pending location approval) or based in one of our other physical office locations in Des Moines, IA, Philadelphia, PA or Washington, DC.
We are a full-service public affairs and multimedia advertising agency with broad experience helping progressive candidates, advocacy groups, and organizations use integrated, strategic communications and advertising to achieve their goals. GPS Impact is uniquely set up with digital expertise as well as television media production, general campaign consulting, communications experts, ad-buying, targeting, and creative all in-house.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Act as day-to-day client lead for several clients and work alongside other client leads, managers, senior staff and other departments to develop communications strategies that maximize our clients’ efforts.
- Act as project / account manager as needed, taking lead on developing timelines, setting deadlines, assigning tasks, checking in with team members, and making sure all materials are organized and delivered in a timely manner.
- Staying abreast of client-related policy issues and news developments.
- Assist in executing owned and earned strategies, including pitching reporters, writing press releases and other related activities.
- Assist and/or lead execution of social media campaigns, including paid or earned influencer campaigns.
- Work with senior staff to help clients to develop strategy and voice that uniquely positions them to reach their goals.
- Create content and/or editorial calendars, managing the production process for copy and visual collateral.
- Recommend email, advertising, and social media strategies to activate clients’ supporter bases.
- Analyze metrics and create insightful reports to improve client programs while staying familiar with current best practices.
- Report on program performance and serve as a client point of contact.
- Assist in new business opportunities as they arise.
REQUIREMENTS:
- 4-6 years of experience working in communications for a public relations or marketing agency, non-profit organization, corporation, party committee, campaign, or government entity.
- Ability to work independently or with minimal oversight.
- Willingness to develop earned media skills and capabilities.
- Willingness to learn on the job.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- A sense of how to tell a story.
- Ability to thrive in a constantly changing, often unpredictable, and sometimes fast-paced environment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience managing client accounts at an agency.
- Familiarity with paid digital strategies, tactics, and platforms.
- Experience developing integrated communications plans.
- Understanding of digital key performance indicators (KPIs) and analytics.
- Experience with any of the following platforms: Meta Business Manager, LinkedIn, social media content management systems, Todoist.
COMPENSATION
The salary for Account Manager will start at $72,500 annually. GPS offers several other attractive benefits including generous paid time off, 401k match, parental leave, and a flexible working environment.
