About the Race

MD Leg. District 13 is a competitive race to fill an open seat in the Maryland House of Delegates. District 13, located in Howard County, elects three delegates. Two of the incumbents are set to run again in 2026, leaving one seat open. District 13 is solid Democrat, so most of the fight will be in the primary battling other Democratic candidates.

What Will You Do?

Delbert Jackson’s campaign is seeking a Fundraising Director to be responsible for leading and managing the day to day fundraising operations of the campaign from the end of 2025 through November 30, 2026. The position is based in Elkridge, MD. We are open to a hybrid/ flexible work schedule. Office space is available in the campaign HQ.

Responsibilities include:

  • Design the campaign’s finance plan and work with key stakeholders to implement it with fidelity.

  • Develop additional fundraising prospects in the district, statewide and nationally.

  • Manage candidate call time including the development of call sheets, staffing, follow up and data entry.

  • Set up weekly fundraising conference calls with team.

  • In partnership with the Campaign Manager, create a fundraising operation to raise ~$90,000.

  • Ensure good record keeping for compliance and reporting.

  • In partnership with the Treasurer, manage the campaign’s compliance.

  • Work with campaign staff and/or consultants to develop an email and digital fundraising plan.

  • Write/oversee the writing of fundraising emails and direct mail solicitations.

  • Manage any additional fundraising/ finance staff that are added to the campaign during the course of the cycle.

  • Develop and manage the execution of any and all fundraising events, where appropriate.

  • Plan for staff at all fundraising related events and/or meetings.

  • Respond to information requests from Campaign Manager and/or Treasurer.

  • Submit weekly status reports to Campaign Manager.

Who Are You?

As a successful candidate for the job, you will:

  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new skills and platforms used by other team members.

  • A technical skillset that includes familiarity or proficiency in a variety of software such as (but not limited to) MS Excel, Google Suite.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • A desire to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and implement creative solutions to unique problems.

  • Enjoy working towards and achieving ambitious goals.

  • Bring a capacity and willingness to work long hours during peak season to get the work done.

  • Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Display a strong interest in learning internal party channels to accomplish your team’s needs.

  • Have a valid U.S. Driver's License along with reliable transportation.

  • Bring previous experience using VAN (Votebuilder) or the ability to quickly learn.

If possible, but not required, you will also:

  • Bring experience working with MD Campaign Reporting Information System (MDCRIS).

  • Have prior experience working on a campaign.

Job Details

The salary for this position is between $800 - $1200 month commensurate with experience.
