JOB DESCRIPTION
Overview:
As the Finance Director you will have the opportunity to lead and execute the fundraising efforts for the Democratic Party of Virginia. This position will work closely with the Chair and Executive Director, and serve as a member of the senior leadership team. The Finance Director is responsible for building and executing a fundraising plan, building relationships with major donors, and executing fundraising events both large and small. This position is based in Richmond, Virginia and will report to the Executive Director.
Responsibilities:

Manage the Finance Department, including strategic planning, budgeting, hiring, and project management;

Own the design and implementation of a comprehensive finance plan, working in close partnership with the Chair, ED, and Budget Committee;

Coordinate with the Operations team to monitor compliance and appropriately solicit, track, and report campaign finance contributions and expenditures;

Manage finance consultants (digital, etc);

Manage direct reports in all aspects of their work and support their success in the role by conducting relevant coaching conversations, providing and receiving feedback, and creating an inclusive and engaging team culture.
Requirements:

At least three (3) years experience working in fundraising in Democratic Politics with a Party;

Organization or Campaign. Virginia experience is a plus. Proven experience in planning and executing large (500+ person) fundraising events;

Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build and maintain consistent donor relationships in a statewide position;

Experience working with high-level surrogates & their teams;

Self-motivated with the ability and creativity to solve problems as they arise;

Proficiency with traditional office and campaign software including: NGP, Google Suite, Zoom, and Microsoft Office;

Reliable transportation and the ability/willingness to travel statewide as needed;

A working knowledge of election deadlines and general campaign operations.
