Position: Social Media and Operations Intern

Organization: DJs at the Polls

Location: Remote with PA preference (with potential for some in-person tasks depending on location)

Pay Rate: $17/hour

Hours: Minimum 8 hours per week, up to 20 hours per week if desired and if there is an organizational need

Start Date: Early to Mid-September 2025

End Date: Mid-November 2025

About DJs at the Polls:

DJs at the Polls is a 501(c)(3) nonpartisan nonprofit organization that places DJs at polling locations across target states on Election Day to create a celebratory and welcoming voting environment. Our mission is to increase voter engagement and make the democratic process accessible and enjoyable for all.

Position Overview:

We are looking for a creative and organized Social Media and Operations Intern to join our team working on the November 4th election. This role will focus on enhancing our social media presence while supporting operational tasks to ensure the success of our programs. The ideal candidate is very social media savvy, a ** strong verbal and visual communicator**, and passionate about making a difference through civic engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and creating engaging social media content to promote events and initiatives.

  • Generating content, especially dynamic content such as reels or Tik Toks is a huge part of this role

  • Monitor social media channels, engage with followers, and respond to inquiries or relay to staff as necessary.

  • Support operational workflows to ensure smooth execution of programs leading up to and on Election Day.

  • Help coordinate and track assignments and schedules.

  • Collaborate cross-departmentally to support other teams as needed.

  • Provide support in the days leading up to November 4th (Election Day) and on Election Day.

Qualifications:

  • Current student or recent graduate preferred; we will work with students to provide internship credit if desired.

  • Social media channels include Instagram, TikTok, Threads, and BluSky. Proficiency in creating static content as well as short videos for TikToks and Reels is required.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.

  • Ability to commit to at least 8 hours per week, with flexibility to work up to 20 hours per week.

  • Availability all day on November 4th (Election Day) and generous availability in the days leading up to Election Day. (We will provide a work excuse for class or activities if needed.)

  • Enthusiasm for civic engagement and creativity in promoting our mission is required, an understanding of the local DJ community is preferred

  • Understanding/involvement in Pennsylvania is a plus
