Position: Press Assistant
Location: Raleigh, NC
Salary: $4,750/month
Cooper for North Carolina is hiring a dedicated, organized, and driven Press Assistant to join our growing communications team. This is an opportunity to join a top-tier Senate race and help send Roy Cooper to the U.S. Senate. This is a full-time, in-person, paid position that is based in Raleigh, North Carolina.
The Press Assistant will be responsible for monitoring media coverage and compiling daily clips, managing media lists, and other administrative duties and projects. This role will also provide assistance with campaign events and draft communications materials as assigned. The ideal candidate will be energetic with great attention to detail and a superior ability to multitask.
Qualifications

One year of experience in relevant work. This can include volunteer work or intern experience.

A high attention to detail.

Strong organizational skills and an ability to manage multiple projects.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

North Carolina ties and previous campaign experience are a plus.
Responsibilities include

Monitor local and national media coverage of the campaign and compile daily press clips.

Track clips, maintain press lists, and track media inquiries, ensuring inquiries are responded to in a timely manner.

Manage calendars and provide administrative support to the communications team.

Draft media advisories, press releases, fact sheets, and other materials as needed.

Support logistics for campaign events, including recruiting press, preparing materials, and coordinating with reporters.
Compensation

Salary: $4,750/month.

Healthcare premium covered by campaign.
Hours: Full-time position. This position’s schedule will vary based on the needs of the campaign and point in the cycle, and is likely to require evening and weekend work over the course of the election cycle.
