Berger Hirschberg Strategies (BHS) is seeking a proactive and driven Deputy Finance Director to join our New York City office. This pivotal role supports our mission of advancing progressive change through innovative and effective fundraising for high-profile political clients.

Role Overview:

As a ** Deputy Finance Director**, you will play an integral role in designing and implementing dynamic fundraising strategies for a portfolio of clients. You will gain hands-on experience in all aspects of political fundraising, including donor research, event planning, compliance, and managing direct client interactions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and assist the finance director and fundraising team to implement strategic finance plans, driving fundraising success across multiple clients simultaneously.

  • Organize and staff candidate virtual meeting blocks with high-net-worth donors

  • Assist in planning and execution of engaging fundraising events, including low-dollar grassroots events and high-dollar gatherings with top donors.

  • Conduct thorough donor research and prospecting to expand client fundraising networks.

  • Assist in maintaining and managing client databases and finance plans in a timely manner, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legal requirements.

  • Coordinate logistics for national travel and provide hands-on support during fundraising events and meetings.

  • Prepare detailed background materials for client briefings, events, and donor meetings.

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience: 1 - 2 cycles of campaign finance experience preferred, ideally at the statewide or congressional level.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel, Google Docs, and Numero; familiarity with iWave, Donor Atlas, and Asana is a plus.

  • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to convey ideas clearly and persuasively.

  • Managerial Skills: Ability to manage a team of 5 - 8 fellows. Always providing guidance and direction on varies projects and clients. An ability to forecast ahead on projects to make sure we achieve the client deliverables.

  • Organizational Skills: Impeccable attention to detail and a proven ability to manage competing priorities under tight deadlines.

  • Flexibility: Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

  • Problem-Solving: A resourceful mindset with a “figure it out” attitude, ready to tackle challenges independently and collaboratively.

Compensation and Benefits:

We offer a competitive benefits package designed to support your success and well-being:

  • Salary: $60,000 - $65,000 annually, with potential for bonuses.

  • Healthcare: Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage with 50% company contribution.

  • Paid Time Off: 1 week of summer vacation post-90 days and 1-2 weeks during the December break.

  • Sick Leave: Eight paid sick days annually.
