Our team is committed to equity, respect, and impact.

Position Overview

As a Canvasser, you will be on the front lines of our outreach efforts. You’ll engage with community members face-to-face, discuss issues or initiatives, provide information, and encourage people to take action (sign a petition, commit to volunteer, share info, etc.). Your role is critical to building awareness, trust, and momentum in neighborhoods across the southwest suburbs.

  • Collect signatures, commitments, or responses as directed

  • Accurately record data from interactions (using mobile app, clipboard, or data sheets)

  • Follow safety protocols and adhere to local canvassing laws/regulations

  • Attend training sessions, team briefings, and debriefings

  • Work independently in the field, and collaborate with team leads and coordinators

  • Help with logistics: distributing materials, picking up or returning supplies, tracking zones

Qualifications & Skills

  • Outgoing, confident, and comfortable initiating conversations with strangers

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to manage time efficiently

  • Comfortable working outdoors and walking for extended periods

  • Ability to learn talking points and adjust based on feedback

  • Previous experience in canvassing, petitioning, field outreach, sales, customer service, or campaigning is a plus

  • Basic comfort with using mobile devices or tablets to record data

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Compensation & Benefits

  • Starting at $20 per hour + performance bonuses

  • Paid training

  • Referral bonuses for bringing in additional qualified canvassers

  • A chance to gain experience in civic engagement, campaign operations, communication, and leadership

Work Schedule

  • Typical shifts may run from 10:30 AM to 6:30 PM, 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, or similar hours

  • Workdays may include weekends and evenings, depending on campaign needs

  • Part-time and full-time availability welcomed
