JOB DESCRIPTION

Friends of Sherrod Brown is seeking a Deputy Director of Operations, Advance for the 2026 campaign cycle. The Deputy Director of Operations, Advance is a key member of the Operations team working directly with external and internal stakeholders to support a busy schedule and help advance the campaign’s overall goals.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, a strong team player, and quick on their feet. This position requires the ability to manage multiple responsibilities simultaneously, often involving switching back and forth between tasks based on their importance, and an ability to work on projects with limited direction when needed.

The position requires discretion at all times and an understanding of the magnitude of handling confidential information. This position also requires an individual with a valid driver’s license and a comfort level driving in all parts of Ohio.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the procurement of security for the Senator’s events and travel

  • Advising senior staff and partners on all materials and needs in advance of campaign events

  • Helping the Scheduling Manager with logistics for events

  • Supporting scheduling and staffing calls

  • Additional projects as needed

Qualifications:

  • A positive attitude and a self-starter mentality

  • A strong ability to remain calm under pressure and solve problems quickly

  • 2-3 years of scheduling and advance experience, preferably for a candidate or elected official

  • Exceptional attention to detail, ability to manage several tasks at once, and ability to work under pressure

  • Strong political instincts

  • Ability to work with external partners and to juggle multiple departments’ priorities and asks
