We are a top-tier, highly competitive Democratic campaign fighting to flip California's 48th Congressional District, a Harris +3 seat after Prop 50 passes. Our campaign is powered by grassroots energy, a strong candidate with deep community roots, and a commitment to building a winning, inclusive movement.
Brandon Riker is the frontrunner in the CA-48 primary, having raised over $1.3M with over $1M cash on hand to flip this must-win seat for the Democratic House majority.
Position Summary
The ** Finance Director** is responsible for developing and executing the campaign’s fundraising strategy to meet ambitious financial goals. This position oversees all aspects of fundraising operations — including call time, events, digital fundraising coordination, compliance tracking, and donor outreach — to ensure the campaign has the resources needed to win. The ideal candidate is highly organized, strategic, and relentless in pursuit of financial targets.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a comprehensive finance plan to meet weekly, monthly, and overall fundraising goals.

Manage the candidate’s call time: prepare call sheets, track pledges, and ensure follow-up is completed in a timely manner.

Plan and execute fundraising events, both in-district and nationally, including logistics, invitation management, and donor engagement.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with major donors, PACs, labor partners, and allied organizations.

Work with compliance staff to ensure all contributions are properly reported and adhere to FEC regulations.

Oversee finance staff and interns, providing training, structure, and accountability for call time and event operations.

Coordinate with digital and communications teams to integrate online fundraising efforts into the broader finance strategy.

Produce regular finance reports for senior staff, consultants, and the candidate.

Identify and pursue new revenue streams, including bundling networks, coalition fundraising, and virtual events.
Qualifications

2–4+ years of campaign fundraising experience, preferably at the congressional or statewide level.

Proven track record of meeting or exceeding fundraising goals.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Comfort and professionalism in donor-facing situations.

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.

Commitment to Democratic values and electing progressive leadership.

Experience managing staff and volunteers is a plus.

Proficiency in NGP VAN, ActBlue, and Google Workspace.
Compensation
The salary range is set at $8,500 - $9,500 per month.
