JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Overview

The Minnesota Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party is hiring a full-time **Coordinated Campaign Director **to manage our 2026 Coordinated Campaign. This position is for a highly motivated, passionate, and talented campaign manager.

The Coordinated Campaign Director will develop, oversee, and execute all aspects of the Coordinated Campaign plan. With a critical US Senate race, all of our executive offices, including the Governor’s race, the State Senate, and the State House on the ballot – the Coordinated Campaign Director will work closely with all of our Coordinated partners to turn out every DFL voter to support the full DFL ticket, up and down the ballot.

This position reports to the Chief Organizing Officer and the Coordinated Campaign Board and is based in St. Paul, MN. We will accept applications on a rolling basis, with preference to those that apply by November 7th, 2025. This position ideally starts on December 1, 2025.

Core Responsibilities:

  • **Write and Implement Coordinated Campaign Plan: **In coordination with the Chief Organizing Director, develop and implement an innovative Coordinated Campaign program – understanding what each of our Coordinated Campaign Partners need from this program, and finding the common ground.

  • This Coordinated program traditionally carries the largest Organizing staff in the state – covering Field, Coalitions, and a massive GOTV operation. The Coordinated Campaign will also have Operations, Voter Protection, and Data teams to manage.

  • **Manage Senior Leadership Team: **Hire, train, manage, coach, and support the Senior Leadership team as they implement their plans and programs.

  • Coordinate with Other DFL HQ Departments: Work with other departments within the DFL such as communications, party affairs, operations, etc., to ensure the smooth running of interdepartmental organizing programs

  • **Goal Setting and Metric Management: **Create aspirational but realistic goals and coach staff to success. Develop appropriate metrics and manage systems of accountability for staff and volunteers

  • **Reporting: **Analyze data to create and track progress across all programs.

  • **Additional Responsibilities: **Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor, Executive Director, or Chair

Requirements:

  • At least four cycles of political campaign experience, including at least two cycles managing paid staff – or equivalent experience

  • Experience developing large scale field programs – building universes, setting voter contact goals, managing organizers

  • Cultural Competency – Able to build authentic relationships across lines of difference, such as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, class, ability, gender identity, citizenship status, or other identities. Understands how to take an inclusive lens into all aspects of work

  • Proven track record of effective recruitment, management, and development of diverse staff

  • Ability to speak, write, and communicate effectively to staff, and partners of different backgrounds and experience as well as the public at large

  • Proficiency using Votebuilder (VAN), Google apps, Excel, P2P texting tools

  • Demonstrated commitment to electing DFL candidates up and down the ballot

  • Valid driver’s license and reliable access to a vehicle

  • Ability to work irregular hours, including nights and weekends

Preferred but not required:

  • Minnesota experience or ties to the state

  • Experience organizing in both urban and rural settings

Don’t meet every single requirement? We encourage you to apply anyway. Studies show that women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, and members of other underrepresented communities often hesitate to apply unless they meet every qualification. At the DFL, we are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of Minnesota — including people of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, and backgrounds. We believe our party and our work are stronger when everyone is included and empowered.
