About the Campaign

The candidate is a leading voice for progress in California and a proven champion for our values. As an elected official representing voters in the Bay Area, the candidate has delivered real results on issues like housing, transportation, climate change, LGBTQ+ equality, and criminal justice reform. Now, they are running for Congress to bring their effective, progressive leadership to Washington D.C. Their campaign is building a diverse, passionate, and dedicated team to engage voters across the district and secure victory in 2026.

Position Summary

The Organizer will play a key role in building the grassroots foundation of the campaign. Working under the direction of the Organizing Director, the Organizer will recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers; plan and execute voter contact events; and build relationships within key neighborhoods and communities across San Francisco. The ideal candidate is an energetic, people-oriented campaign professional with a passion for engaging voters, developing volunteers, and winning elections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and execute voter contact activities including canvassing, phone banking, texting, and relational organizing.

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and community leaders.

  • Build strong relationships with community members and local organizations.

  • Hold regular 1:1 meetings with supporters to identify and develop volunteer leaders.

  • Organize and manage events such as volunteer trainings, house parties, and community outreach efforts.

  • Track voter contact and volunteer engagement in VAN and other campaign databases.

  • Work collaboratively with other organizers and departments (digital, communications, events).

  • Personally participate in voter contact activities on a regular basis.

  • Report weekly goals and progress to the Organizing Director.

Qualifications

  • At least one cycle of experience on a political campaign or community organizing effort.

  • Demonstrated ability to recruit and motivate volunteers.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Highly organized with excellent attention to detail and follow-through.

  • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.

  • Comfortable using VAN, Mobilize, Google Workspace, and social media platforms.

  • Commitment to progressive values and the Democratic Party.

  • Familiarity with San Francisco neighborhoods and communities is a plus.

  • Fluency in Cantonese, Spanish, or other languages spoken locally is a plus.
