JOB DESCRIPTION

The Michigan House Democratic Fund (MHDF) is focused on winning back a Democratic majority in the Michigan House of Representatives. With 52 of 110 seats, House Democrats are on offense in 2026 to build strong, well-run campaign operations across the state. MHDF is hiring Campaign Managers for our most important races.

Campaign Managers will oversee day-to-day operations for their assigned campaign while working closely with MHDF staff to execute winning strategies. The MHDF is hiring for positions located across Michigan including Metro Detroit and Central, Western, and Northern Michigan.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive campaign plan including field, fundraising, communications, and voter contact programs.

  • Work with the MHDF to create and execute a fundraising plan, including call time, digital fundraising, partner outreach, and events.

  • Staff the candidate during fundraising calls and events, and manage their daily schedule to maximize time spent on high-impact activities like fundraising and voter contact.

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers.

  • Develop and implement a field plan emphasizing direct voter contact—door-to-door canvassing, phone banking, community outreach, and volunteer mobilization.

  • Coordinate with MHDF’s communications team on press opportunities, social media, and messaging to ensure consistent and effective public communication.

  • Work collaboratively with MHDF and partner organizations to share resources, align strategy, and ensure the campaign is operating efficiently and effectively.

Qualifications

  • At least one cycle of campaign, issue organizing, or volunteer experience.

  • Commitment to electing a Democratic majority in the Michigan House of Representatives.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work long hours in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities at once.

  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
