JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a passionate and observant Game Tester to help ensure every release meets the highest standard of gameplay quality. As a member of the QA team, you will explore new builds, identify issues, and provide detailed feedback on bugs, design inconsistencies, and balance concerns. You will work closely with developers, designers, and producers to ensure that every player’s experience is smooth, fair, and fun. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys Pips NYT games not just as a player, but as a critic who can see what makes them work.

Key Responsibilities

  • Playtest new and existing game builds to detect bugs, glitches, and design flaws.

  • Report and document issues clearly with reproducible steps and visual evidence.

  • Evaluate gameplay balance, level design, and overall player experience.

  • Verify fixes in updated builds and ensure no new issues arise after patches.

  • Collaborate with development and design teams to communicate findings.

  • Track progress of issues using internal QA and project management tools.

  • Provide honest feedback on gameplay mechanics, performance, and usability.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in QA or playtesting is preferred but not mandatory.

  • Strong attention to detail and patience for repetitive testing.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills for clear reporting.

  • Deep understanding of gameplay mechanics and player behavior.

  • Familiarity with bug-tracking tools such as Jira, Trello, or Bugzilla.

  • Ability to follow testing plans and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Passion for video games across multiple genres and platforms.
