Outreach Director – Nirav Shah for Maine Governor
Description Nirav Shah’s gubernatorial campaign is seeking an energetic and highly organized Outreach Director to support core grassroots organizing and engagement efforts. This role will focus on driving volunteer engagement, supporting petition collection efforts, and coordinating campaign events, including town halls and house parties. The Campaign Coordinator will also support the campaign team by crafting social media content and captions.
This is a dynamic, full-time position requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced campaign environment. The ideal candidate has a passion for people-powered politics and enjoys building relationships and managing logistics.
Volunteer Engagement & Field Support ● Recruit, train, and mobilize volunteers to support petition collection, community organizing, and voter outreach efforts ● Serve as the primary point of contact for volunteers, providing clear guidance, support, and motivation ● Coordinate volunteer shifts, track activity, and maintain communication channels
Event Coordination ● Plan and execute grassroots events, including town halls, house parties, and petition-related gatherings ● Support event logistics, including scheduling, materials preparation, setup, and on-site coordination ● Work with campaign leadership to build local event programs and community engagement opportunities
Communications & Digital ● Draft and schedule social media posts and captions aligned with campaign messaging ● Support content development for digital platforms, including graphics and supporter updates ● Respond to general inquiries received through social media and campaign email
General Campaign Support ● Assist campaign team with special projects as needed, particularly related to field and outreach strategy ● Maintain databases and records for volunteers, events, and engagement metrics
Qualifications ● At least 1 cycle of campaign experience ● Based in or near Brunswick, Maine, or able to relocate immediately ● Experience with volunteer organizing, community outreach, or event planning highly preferred ● Excellent communication and organization skills ● Strong time management and ability to balance multiple competing priorities ● CRM or voter database experience a plus, but not required — enthusiasm and dependability valued most ● Comfort with fast-paced campaign hours, including evenings and weekends
Compensation $4,000-$5,000 per month, plus health insurance stipend
