Location: Irvine, CA
Reports to: Chief of Staff
Type: Full-time
Salary: $8,000-$9,500/month, commensurate with experience
Overview: Seeking a** Campaign Manager** to lead a competitive reelection race for a first-term U.S. House member who won one of the closest races in the country last year in coastal Orange County. The CM would be responsible for managing all aspects of the campaign, including: working with the candidate, consulting team, and other team members to develop and execute a political message and strategy; overseeing the budget including expenditures for paid communications, field, and staff; hiring and managing a large staff as we head into the 2026 campaign season; and building and maintaining relationships with local leaders, donors, and key stakeholders.
The Campaign Manager will work closely with our experienced Finance Director, who is already in place and raised nearly $2 million already this cycle, and a strong team of consultants, who are highly familiar with the district, the candidate, and the dynamics of the upcoming race.
This is a full-time position based in Irvine or south Orange County that requires someone who is highly organized, motivated, and politically engaged, and who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The CM will be expected to work on evenings and weekends as needed, including ahead of key deadlines and in the weeks prior to the primary and general elections, but will have some flexibility to work from home.
Duties:

Supervise paid staff, including a finance team and field team, as well as paid interns, including those participating in Democracy Summer or similar fellowships.

Oversee the management of unpaid interns and volunteers, petition programs, and grassroots engagement efforts.

Work with the consulting team and Chief of Staff to design and implement a political strategy aligned with the campaign’s overall goals.

Identify and engage key political stakeholders and constituencies in the district.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with local, state, and national political leaders, party organizations, elected officials, unions, and key advocacy groups.

Work with finance team on effective donor outreach maintenance, including with event hosts and key bundlers, and to ensure that the campaign is responding in a timely and responsive fashion and building out strong and well-organized events.

Serve as the primary point of contact for endorsements and coalition-building efforts.

Cultivate relationships with local leaders, elected officials, party infrastructure, unions, and political organizations.

Lead endorsement outreach and management, including tracking, follow-ups, and completing questionnaires.

Work closely with finance consultants and the compliance team to manage financial goals, reports, and donor strategy.

Coordinate national fundraising strategies, prioritizing high-impact events and donor outreach.

Oversee coordination with digital vendors, reviewing content drafts and ensuring alignment with overall messaging strategy.

Work with polling team, campaign consultants, and Chief of Staff to develop our political messaging strategy.

Work with campaign consultants and Chief of Staff to plan and execute a robust paid communications and field outreach strategy.

Draft and manage campaign budgets (especially in off-year planning) and oversee day-to-day financial workflows.

Process invoices, review financial reports, maintain up-to-date records, and lead coordination of reimbursements.

Maintain internal systems including Google Drive, NGP, CTAI, and overall campaign records.

Manage payroll approvals and internal team reimbursements.

Coordinate scheduling and logistical overlap between campaign and official side.
Qualifications:

Preferred 2–4 years of experience in political campaigns, government, or advocacy roles

Strong understanding of the political landscape at the local, state, and federal levels

Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders

Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
-
Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment

Familiarity with the district and its communities is a strong plus. Those currently based in Southern California or looking to put down roots in the area are strongly encouraged to apply.
