JOB DESCRIPTION
The Maine Senate Democratic Campaign Committee (SDCC) is a full-time political organization dedicated to building the Democratic majority in the Maine Senate. The SDCC seeks a Deputy Finance Director to support our fundraising program to protect and expand our majority in 2026.
The Deputy Finance Director will help manage our fundraising program by supporting call time preparation and management, digital fundraising, and fundraising events. This role will report directly to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities:
The Deputy Finance Director has various responsibilities which support all aspects of the caucus’ fundraising and development program – including but not limited to:

Schedule, prepare, and staff in-person and virtual call time with caucus members

Assist in planning, building, and staffing fundraising events for the SDCC and Senators

Identify and prospect new donors

Conduct pledge and correspondence follow-up, including donor gratitude

Assist with maintaining financial records for SDCC

Work with the Finance Director to maintain transparency and compliance with Maine ethics laws

Help facilitate the Caucus’ digital fundraising program, including crafting and editing compelling fundraising emails
Qualifications:

One to two cycles of political campaign experience or non-profit experience with a finance background

Event planning experience is preferred

Experience managing call time of a principal is preferred

A working knowledge of NGP, ActBlue, Excel, and Google Suite

A willingness to learn campaign finance and compliance

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Donor prospecting and research experience preferred

Excellent attention to detail and organization, ability to work independently

Good time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

A willingness to work campaign hours, including nights and weekends
PAY & BENEFITS:
Full-time employees are eligible for benefits, including health care, vision, and dental insurance; sick leave, paid time off, and more. Salary is between $55,000-$70,000 based on experience. Must be able to work with long, irregular hours, have reliable access to a vehicle and travel frequently around Maine. This position is in-person. This position will run through December 2026, and employees should expect to live and work on the ground in Maine by December 2025.
