Cause Campaign Partners is hiring a Data Manager to provide support for a
multi-year grassroots organizing project to build political power in key regions
around the country, develop strong volunteer networks, and amplify organizing
actions and earned media efforts for the Alaska Wilderness League. The Data Manager will work closely with the Organizing Director and the other campaign management leadership to support and track campaign organizing to protect the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, the Western Arctic Reserve, and other Alaska land and water protection campaigns as needed.
The Data Manager will be responsible for constructing and managing data systems in a pre-existing EveryAction account to support the multi-year grassroots organizing campaign. The data systems will need to be designed for an organizing campaign that primarily utilizes grassroots organizing tactics, including the tracking of a wide range of engagement activities and related metrics. The Data Manager will need to be highly skilled with NGP VAN and preferably have fluency in PYTHON and SQL. The ideal applicant has data management experience on issue and/or electoral campaigns and works well in a fast-paced environment. The candidate also needs to have a commitment to protecting the Arctic and building people-driven campaigns.
The Data Manager is managed by and reports to the Organizing Director. This is a part-time, contract position. Location of the candidate is flexible, as long they are based in the United States. Applicants should have easy access to a domestic airport and be comfortable with work-related travel five to seven times a year for team trainings, in-person coaching, and conferences.
Responsibilities will Include:

Build data systems to match organizing program goals,

Work with the Alaska Wilderness League to establish data systems that ensure all data collected as part of the organizing program can be easily reported and leveraged in service of the multi-year campaign.

Train staff to effectively and efficiently enter and manage data while fostering investment in the role of data on the campaign,

Provide regular data support to organizing staff and troubleshoot data challenges,
-
Develop and run daily and monthly reports that clearly communicate program progress to goal on key metrics,
-
Work closely and collaboratively with organizing leadership team to advise on data processes, assess performance, and recommend program adjustments,

Ensure the data program is informed by and accessible to diverse perspectives, cultures, and backgrounds,

Develop strong relationships with key stakeholders – the leadership team and core organizing team, and Alaska Wilderness League staff,

Clearly communicate on all things data, including creating reports and presentations using Microsoft Excel, Google sheets, PowerPoint and other tools.
Skills & Experience:

Minimum two years or two full cycles experience working in a data management capacity on electoral or issue-based campaigns,
-
Strong familiarity with and support of organizing-based programs,
-
Experience with and ability to train others on data entry processes,

Ability to create data visualizations tools that assist the campaign leadership and core campaign organizing team understand progress and trends.

Understanding of and willingness to patiently coach organizing staff that may face challenges with data processes,

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills that allow you to translate complex data into ordinary language for organizers, partner organizations, and volunteers,

Demonstrated ability to work effectively and build strong relationships across lines of difference (race, class, gender, geography, management level, etc),

Demonstrated awareness of one's own identity and cultural worldview,

Experience training and coaching staff and volunteers on data systems,

Expert Microsoft Excel skills (required),

Expert skills with NGP VAN/EveryAction (required),

Fluency in Python and SQL (preferred),

Ability to work in and adapt to a fast-moving, team-oriented environment,

Ability to easily shift between precise detailed work to big picture project management,

Compensation: This is a part time, contract position with compensation set at $5,250/month. Work-related travel expenses are paid for in advance or will be reimbursed.
Work Schedule: Availability to work approximately 18 - 20 hours a week, with longer hours required during periods of travel for trainings or conferences. Willingness to be available for occasional support at irregular times for staff in different time zones.
Travel Expectations: Applicants should have easy access to a domestic airport and be comfortable with work related travel five to seven times throughout the year for team trainings, in-person coaching, and conferences.
Hiring Timeline: Initial outreach by Cause Campaign Partners staff will occur on a rolling basis in November with interviews taking place from November 2025 through January 2026. Official offers will be extended in January, with the Data Manager position expected to start in late January of 2026.
