JOB DESCRIPTION

Hickenlooper for Colorado is seeking hardworking individuals with a passion for politics for their Winter 2026 Internship Program.

Duration: While exact timing is flexible, interns will ideally be available from January through May of 2026.

Location: While all required functions of this job are remote, applicants based in Colorado are strongly preffered.

Compensation: Up to 15 hours per week at $15 per hour.

Requirements: Current students at a Colorado college or university studying politics or a related field seeking to gain valuable real-world experience on a statewide campaign are strongly encouraged to apply. Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment are required. Previous campaign experience, including volunteerism, is desired but not required.

Summary: Hickenlooper for Colorado Campaign Interns will gain work experience with all aspects of the campaign, meet numerous Colorado elected officials, and learn about careers in campaigns and politics from senior leadership across the Hickenlooper organization. Throughout this internship, participants will complete meaningful projects that will make them an integral part of the campaign and provide them with the opportunity to learn digital, field, fundraising, and research strategy from an experienced statewide campaign team.

Responsibilities:

Digital

  • Social monitoring and drafting posts

  • Tagging and organizing campaign photo database

Field

  • Represent the Hickenlooper campaign at grassroots events

  • Assist with persuasion and GOTV efforts for down ballot campaigns

Finance

  • Researching prospective donors and assisting with call time preparation

  • Phone and email outreach to donors

  • Logging information in fundraising database

  • Event invitations, building, and staffing

Research

  • Media monitoring of opponents

  • Assisting in video research
