JOB DESCRIPTION

Our campaign is hiring Field Coordinators to mobilize voters in Kentucky Senate District 6 ahead of the Primary Election on Tuesday, May 19th, 2026.

Caring for Kentuckians as a physician, professor, and public servant, Dr. Christian Furman is running in the Democratic primary for Kentucky State Senate in District 6 to further her commitment to fighting for healthier families, safer communities, and a better future for all Kentuckians.

Field Coordinator Requirements

  • You must live in ** Jefferson County**,** Oldham County**, or** Trimble County**, Kentucky.

  • Commit to ** 10 hours per week** of campaign tasks and field organizing across the district. This role will include a lot of walking and in-district travel, going door to door and speaking face to face with voters in the community.

  • You must be able to use Google Workspace (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.) and willing to learn voter contact/data management systems (VAN/VoteBuilder)

  • You must be willing to utilize social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, X/Twitter, Bluesky, Threads, etc.) to connect and engage with the community.

  • You must be open to constructive feedback and willing to adapt and change as we learn and grow, updating strategies and operational processes over time.

  • You must be willing to engage and listen to community members of all backgrounds, political affiliations, and beliefs. We are committed to caring for the needs and interests of all our neighbors in District 6.

  • You must be comfortable trying new things and learning from both successes and failures!

Field Coordinator Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in-person with the community through canvassing in assigned neighborhoods (door to door conversations with voters) using the tools provided by the campaign, and observe, record, and report detailed feedback and data from your interactions.

  • Lead organizing in your assigned areas of the district alongside another member of our organizing team in support of campaign volunteers and voters in each neighborhood.

  • Support and learn from campaign volunteers in your assigned areas of the district, building relationships with residents and expanding our network of supporters.

  • Engage virtually with the community through both virtual meetings as well as relevant social media platforms utilized by the campaign, including amplifying and sharing campaign content and opportunities.

  • Coordinators should be excited to connect with a variety of voters across the community.

  • Be an active thought partner in the campaign team to test and improve tactics and strategies.

Preferred Experience (But not required)

  • Experience meeting and speaking with voters during canvassing or other related opportunities

  • Experience with voter contact data and management systems (VAN/VoteBuilder or any similar tools)

  • Experience and familiarity with (or interest in) local and state policy issues in Kentucky.

Compensation

  • Compensation for this position is $25/hr at 10 hours per week, with a weekly travel stipend for district-based organizing work.

  • This is a part-time position, no healthcare or other benefits will be included.
