JOB DESCRIPTION

SWAY is looking to hire a Vice President for Digital Strategy and Advertising to lead our digital services business ahead of the 2026 campaign cycle. The Vice President for Digital Strategy and Advertising will lead our clients in all their digital advertising needs, alongside general digital strategy and advice, and ensure our general paid media approach is layered and integrated. This role is ideal for someone with significant digital advertising experience looking to build a small but mighty digital team and make progressive change by supporting candidates and causes across the country.

Job responsibilities

● Oversee digital services for SWAY clients, including digital advertising, general digital strategy, and other digital products you and the team assemble

● Oversee the production of creative for digital platforms, with a focus on 6, 15, and 30 second spots, alongside banner ads, etc

● Develop a strategic vision for continuing to build out SWAY’s digital services and the firm long-term

● Oversee the media planning, budgeting, placement, and reporting of all digital advertising, always with an eye towards matching our clients’ strategic goals with excellent digital advertising strategy

● Contribute to new business development, connecting with new potential clients. Pitch, recruit, and retain digital clients—writing proposals, scopes of work, and more as needed

● Serve as the digital point of contact for multiple clients at a time, advising on ads and general digital strategy and build strong, trust-based relationships

● Write, edit, and approve ad copy for digital platforms

● Select and manage advertising vendors

● Hire and manage a digital team, with a commitment to DEI and fostering a strong team culture

● Generate weekly reports for internal and client-facing purposes

Experience and skill requirements

● 5+ years in digital strategy, with at least two years of involvement with digital advertising programs and one cycle of campaign experience preferred

● Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, and an ability to write copy for all types of brand voices

● Comfort and familiarity with Google Sheets, Google Data Studio, Tableau, or other methods of tracking and reporting metrics and KPIs

● Experiencing managing/placing digital ad campaigns with six figures budget, preference for candidates who have managed million dollar + buys.

● Strong understanding of the entire progressive digital ecosystem and knowledge of emerging digital trends

● Hands-on experience inside of Google and Facebook’s self-serve buying platforms, and a working knowledge of the programmatic advertising space, CTV, native, and emerging advertising verticals

● Preference given for candidates who are able to advise clients confidently on email programs management, online fundraising, website builds, CRM selection and usage, digital organizing, and other digital strategy elements

● Deep passion for electing Democratic candidates up and down the ballot, and supporting progressive causes and organizations

● A proven commitment to racial and gender equity, with an understanding of the ways system inequity and racism plagues both our nation and the political industries we operate in
