Job Announcement: Data and Field Manager — The Strategy Group

Location: Pasadena, California (Hybrid — In-person 2–3 days per week)

Type: Full-time, Exempt, Time-Limited (through the 2026 Election Cycle)

Reports to: Partner / Senior Strategist

About The Strategy Group

The Strategy Group is a leading Democratic political consulting and direct mail firm with offices in Pasadena, California. We help progressive candidates, causes, and organizations build winning campaigns that inspire voters and make an impact. Our work blends strategy, creativity, and precision — developing communications that cut through the noise and move people to action.

Position Summary

The Data and Field Manager will oversee the design, execution, and evaluation of voter contact and data-driven organizing programs for clients during the 2026 election cycle. Working closely with strategists, analysts, campaign partners, and candidates, this role bridges quantitative insight with field execution — turning voter data into actionable plans that win races.

This is a full-time but time-limited position, expected to continue through the November 2026 general election and post-campaign wrap-up. The ideal candidate is a strategist and operator who combines data fluency and field management experience.

Key Responsibilities

· Develop and manage field and data strategies for client campaigns, including direct voter contact, turnout operations, and performance tracking.

· Coordinate field activities such as canvassing, phone and text outreach, relational organizing, and voter registration drives.

· Design and maintain dashboards, data tracking systems, and reports to measure field effectiveness and ensure data accuracy.

· Analyze voter files, targeting models, and polling data to inform campaign decisions.

· Support creative development of voter contact scripts, digital content, and mail plans to align messaging across channels.

· Support the recruitment and training of client’s volunteers; establish clear daily and weekly goals.

· Collaborate with strategists, production, and digital teams to integrate data insights into direct mail and digital programs.

· Build and maintain relationships with local partners, community organizations, labor allies, and campaign coalitions.

· Prepare internal and client-facing reports summarizing field metrics, insights, and recommendations.

· Uphold data-security, privacy, and compliance standards under FEC and state election laws.

· Work evenings and weekends as needed during peak campaign periods.

Qualifications

· 2–3 years of experience in political data, field organizing, campaign management, or related work.

· Proven ability to design and execute voter contact programs with measurable results.

· Proficiency with PDI, VAN, Mobilize, Google Workspace, and voter-file tools; familiarity with relational organizing platforms preferred.

· Strong quantitative and analytical skills; comfort working with spreadsheets, voter data, and performance metrics.

· Demonstrated experience managing teams of staff or volunteers in fast-paced campaign environments.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to build rapport with diverse stakeholders.

· Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven.

· Familiarity with California’s political landscape and communities preferred.

Work Environment and Location

This position is based in our Pasadena, California office. The Project Manager role is hybrid, with an expectation of being in the office 2–3 days per week for collaboration, client meetings, and creative sessions. Candidates must reside in the greater Los Angeles area or be willing to relocate prior to their start date. Regular in-person attendance is required; this is not a remote-only position.

The Strategy Group complies with all applicable state and federal labor laws, including California Labor Code §2802, regarding reimbursement for required business expenses for hybrid work.

Duration

This is a time-limited position aligned with the 2026 election cycle. Employment is expected to continue through November 2026, with the possibility of extension based on organizational needs and performance. All standard employee protections, benefits, and California labor law requirements apply during the full term of employment.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $76,000 annually, plus benefits and performance-based bonus eligibility.

  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance effective on the first day of employment.

  • Paid vacation, sick time, and company holidays.
